Horsemanship Program

Horsemanship Program - I want to engage a cohort of high-risk youth in Baltimore city in the opportunity to learn about horse riding and horse care. I will recruit the cohort through the ROCA and Safe Streets Baltimore, two violence intervention programs that I currently work for.

After selecting a group of 6 – 8 youth, I will spend eight months teaching them the basics of stable care, horse rearing, and riding. I have the ability to engage this target population because I am from the community, have a relatable history, and am determined to change the trajectory of youth who need consistency and support from understanding role models.

I can be patient with the most resistant youth due to my current work experience and because I understand the significance of reliability to those who have been systemically unsupported.
